Вы любите выписывать цитаты из книг? Я - да. Таким образом прочитанная книга оставляет след в моей жизни и запоминается надолго. Мне не по душе книги, из которых мне не удалось выписать ни одной цитаты.

Кстати, цитаты я беру не только из книг. В моей коллекции есть и понравившиеся мне высказывания людей, как ныне живущих (например, на форумах), так и перешедших в мир иной. Так, в моем цитатнике удачный рекламный лозунг вполне может соседствовать с афоризмом классика.

Но цитаты - это не только память о встрече с автором, а и средство изучения языка. Средство приятное, не напрягающее и растянутое во времени. Повторяемые про себя меткие высказывания прочно закрепляют в вокабуляре новые слова и буквально врезают в память грамматические конструкции.

Помню, когда я сдавала вступительные экзамены в два вуза в разных городах, моей мантрой была фраза: "Determination to win brings success." Многократно проговариваемая в уме, фраза не могла не повлиять на мою жизнь. Кроме того, в качестве бонуса я прекрасно запомнила управление слова "determination" (а вместе с ним и "determined") и даже если меня разбудить посреди ночи, я скажу, что слово "success" неисчисляемое.

Были в моей жизни и другие фразы. Так, долго у меня на стене висел постер с фотографией котенка, приоткрывающего дверь, и надписью: "If God closes one door, He opens another."
