Mother and Child Relationship

Two of the most important relationships in one's life are the relationship with one's mother and the relationship with one's child. This post is a collection of quotes and links from different sources. All of them have reached the very bottom of my heart.

Did you ever wonder how a child ended up with a specific mother? According to Sufi mysticism, the soul of the child looks down at the world and sees every soul that resides in every woman. When he finds the one that will be able to help him fulfill his life's purpose, he makes his choice. The relationship between the mother and child is no accident. At times the child may reject his mother and wish he had a different one. Remember your soul made the choice for a reason. This woman can help you live your purpose. (source)

Here is a quote about childhood by Tom Stoppard I really enjoy:

"If you carry your childhood with you, you never become older."

And here you will find one of the most touching essays about the development of mother and child relationship I have ever read: "Essence of a Growing Boy" by Monica Welch. By the way, for further acquaintance with the author's personality you can read the interview with Monica on this website: "Word Nymph's Point of View".

If you don't mind having a good cry, watch this video. Remember to get a handkerchief ready:

Note. If you are a club member, I've also attached two files for you to read and enjoy. One is a memorandum from a child. The other is a heart-tugging story "Need washing?"
