Мы с дочкой любим играть в шашки. С каждой партией Дашин профессионализм растёт и сейчас мне уже приходится задумываться, прежде чем сделать очередной ход.
Поле для игры у нас самодельное - это сшитые между собой квадраты из ткани:
а для изготовления самих шашек я использовала двухцветные пенопластовые контейнеры из-под яиц:
Игра в шашки практически не требует знания какой-либо специфической лексики - лишь несколько слов и выражений:

Правила игры в шашки довольно просты:
- Place one piece on each orange square in the first three rows of squares.
- Make sure there are 12 pieces on each side of the board with two empty rows in the middle.
- If you are the white player, you begin. Move one of your pieces forward diagonally along the orange squares. You may move only one square at a time.
- Take turns moving one piece at a time.
- Jump over your opponent's piece if it is in a square directly diagonal and adjacent to your own piece and there is a free square on the other side. Remove the jumped piece from the board and keep it - now it is yours.
- If you jump a piece and land in a position to jump another of the other player's pieces, jump that piece as well during the same turn.
- When one of your pieces reaches the far end of the board, "king" it. Your king is now allowed to move diagonally forward or backward.
- The first player to remove all of the opponent's pieces from the board by jumping them - or who blocks his opponent so that he cannot move - wins the game.
